There are so many people in my town that seem to pay it forward. Off the top of my head, I think of one lady that impresses me. This woman lives a few blocks from me. Even if you don't know this lady, you see her everywhere! Her name is Joanne Page and not only does she run a daycare, she still has time to help everyone else out. One thing that she does is help cook dinner at the church for over 300 people. I have trouble cooking for just my family!
However, when I first met her, it wasn't from the daycare or the church. It turns out she helps send care packages out to the military. She is constantly getting supplies to send. She works with a team and they package them and send them to our soldiers. My husband was in the military and assured me how wonderful it was when he received a care package. I thought how nice of her to do that.
Again, all of these are outstanding, but this stands out in my mind. She put a lot of work and care into this idea. One Christmas she was collecting coffee mugs. She told me that she was going to give each veteran in one of the veteran's home a coffee cup, some cocoa, and a few other things. I thought of those residents and how she was going to make their day. Some of them do not have many visitors and she was going to drive over an hour to give every one of them a Christmas gift. She didn't know them, and she was going to make sure that every one of them knew that she appreciated them.
These are just a few things that I know that she does. I can bet there are a ton more too!
Do you have a special person between the ages of 16-21 who just stands out? Who just goes that extra mile for someone? If so, you can nominate them for an award from Coca-Cola.
